Allowing me into your home for the first time is not something I take lightly. Your home is your safe place, and that is something I want to show in your home-based session!
It is a privilege for me to photograph people, and sometimes this means I meet people for the very first time at their session. So I thought I would share a little bit about myself and what I do to make sure I feel comfortable about being in your home and around your safe space, without making you uncomfortable.
To start with, I am a talker. I have worked in customer service my entire life and I like to break the ice and start as I mean to continue. I love meeting new people and apparently it is no secret!
I come from a smoke-free, vaccinated household. We have a dog and a cat, and I have freshly laundered clothing before photoshoots to make sure the dog and cat don't come with me.
This is something I am very particular about with newborns, especially if I don't know what pets they have at home.
If I have any signs of illness I will postpone, regardless of age or context of the photoshoot. I ask that clients do the same.
I have found my photography journey so far to be such a joy, and I am looking forward to my next newborn shoot in the couple of weeks!
